When I was in college, it never occurred to me that one day I would be Director of Career Planning at my mother's alma mater Agnes Scott College.  Now, the Class of '52 uses my office as reunion central on alumnae weekends.  After working at big places including Georgia Tech, UGA and Emory, I am happy to be in at a small liberal arts college where I can work individually with each student in pursuit of her own unique aspiration.  On a professional, okay personal note, I think it is just as easy to buy an interesting pair of shoes as a boring pair.  My picture on the left is of me in Munster, Germany with my favorite Smart car taken when I was on my Fulbright.

The work I do at Agnes Scott is a pleasure and a privlege.  I listen to and counsel young women during some of the most influential years of their life journeys, a time rich with learning, growing and deciding, with beginning to forge their own places in the world.

I’ve been trying to come up with a tagline for our internship program. I’ve considered “The Bridge to KNOWwhere” and “Putting knowledge to work.”  What do you think? What phrase best articulates our intended message that an internship is a critical first step in connecting the classroom to a productive, fulfilling, and uniquely individual career?
